Ellijay River Vineyards (Part 5)

Monday was HOT at the vineyard! I spent the day with Marijn finishing up the last of the postholes and growtubes in the small square of the vineyard that hadn't yet been treated for weeds. The rest of the vineyard looks beautiful with the weeds finally managed - and the vines are psyched!

Progress is being made at the barn too. The exterior is done and the insulation and AC have been installed - the drywall gets hung next. Downstairs is truly a barn, it'll house the tractor, El Cabellero, mower, and all the other farming equipment. There will also be a workshop, bathroom, and hopefully some room left for a ping pong table. Upstairs is a spacious three bedroom apartment with a fireplace and giant deck looking over the vineyards.

Big Chris has been busy painting this beauty. Looking GOOD!

The vines love the Georgia sun, and look forward to that Georgia storm brewing in the background.

Here comes the rain...

The heat subsided a little bit when the storms hit. And the rain felt great, so we just kept working... until the lightning began. We quickly called it a day and headed back to Atlanta to clean up and hang out with the rest of the family at the Big Birthday Bash.

En route to the party, Big Chris gets irritated at my paparazzism.

...and takes a swing at me, while saying something that seems to begin with 'F'.

...finally he decides to fight fire with fire.

I turn the camera on myself, with my cousins Amy and Ryan.

We celebrated my aunt Bobbi's, cousin Ryan's, and soon-to-be cousin-in-law Angie's birthdays together in one big party at Stan and Bobbi's house. That means THREE CAKES!!

Happy Birthday, Bobbi!

Cousin Billy is sad that he doesn't have his own lemon tart (made by Lisa) like Angie does.

Happy Birthday, sleepy Angie!

Beautiful chocolate raspberry black forest cake for Ryan, made by his talented sister Amy.

Happy 21st, Little Cuz!

As always, I love your pictures Chris. So purty. The barn is beautiful! I'm a barn nut. I love old barns most, but that is a very nice new barn.

You have one good lookin' family Chris.
