Halloween

My office tries to get away with wearing jeans once a year on Halloween.  This year we dressed as different kinds of blood cells. Our boss is a pathologist so we made her guess what we each were and she totally guessed everyone - she's talented.  We also made our students go to each office and guess what we were.  Amazingly, they all got it too. Am I the only one that doesn't know anything about blood cells?? My boss dressed up as her boss Dean Sheila Allen (see below).

My boss dressed up as the dean.

The actual dean Sheila Allen on the left.

Let's see if you can guess what we are.... (answers in the comments)

Jenny is bilobed with red granules and has been known to fight parasites.

Laura Leigh likes to take oxygen to the different body tissues -- she is red.

Emma helps you clot.

Lakecia plays a large role in defending the body against disease (notice the antibodies all over her)

Lauren has a single nucleus that ingests foreign materials - notice her phagocytic vacuoles

Sandi has a bilobed nucleus and blue granules - she shows up in inflammation or allergic reactions

I have a multi-lobed nucleus. I am a first responder and eat bacteria.
